Collectif CARLOS / CARLOS Collective

(English below)

CARLOS est une équipe interdisciplinaire, établie en France et en Allemagne. Le collectif, initié en 2016, agit à l’interface entre Paysage, Architecture, Urbanisme et Arts.

Nous travaillons à travers divers médiums tel le collage, la photographie, le dessin, en combinant recherche théorique et recherche sur le terrain.

Le collectif s’inscrit dans un monde en mutation qui invite à questionner nos manières d’habiter et d’aménager les territoires. Ses interventions prennent en compte les changements de régimes climatiques, soutiennent la diversité et l’inclusion des acteurs du territoire (humains et non-humains) à travers la reconnaissance des savoirs et des pratiques locales.

Notre démarche allie recherche, conception et action et développe des méthodes et des outils spécifiques à chaque situation.

Des études de sites, réunions de concertations aux interventions et chantiers sur le terrain, la valorisation de l’existant et l’économie de moyens sont les fils directeurs de notre démarche.

CARLOS is an interdisciplinary team, established in France and Germany. The collective, initiated in 2016, acts at the interface between Landscape, Architecture, Urbanism and Arts.

We work through various mediums such as collage, photography, drawing, combining theory and field research.

The collective is part of a changing world that invites to question our ways of inhabiting and developing territories. Our interventions take into account changes in weather patterns, support the diversity and the inclusion of territorial actors (human and non-human) through the recognition of local knowledge and practices.

Our approach combines research, design and action and develops methods and tools specific to each situation.

Site studies, consultation meetings and interventions projects on the ground, the valuation of the existing and the economy of means are the guiding threads of our approach.

WELCOME!

This Website is an Archive permanently under construction and aims to be an information tool for the different actors and readers. It collects information regarding the process and the development of the project for Montieres in Amiens, (FR) initiated in the framework of Europan 14 “The Productive City”.

The collection presents the details of the winning concept “Cultivating the City – The lessons from the earthworm” from CARLOS Collective*, as well as posterior (inter-)actions and the latest news. It includes as well references, considered relevant to us for reactivating the urban soil as core of our project!
